Tomorrow marks day 1 of my transformation. I’m starting off with a 28 day detox. Yeahhhhh !
I’ll be stripping out all the usual nasties like sugar, gluten, alcohol and including super duper healthy stuff like Lean Greens.
But I’m also going to be doing some fun at home treatments like dry body brushing to flush out those toxins. It’s an ancient Ayurvedic treatment that goes back thousands of years.
We dump tons of toxins out of our skin so it’s important to keep the pathway clear especially as it’s the largest organ. Dry brushing loosens dead cells, stimulates acupressure points, tickles your chi, massages your meridians, moves the lymph, helps reduce fat deposits and cellulite, stimulates your immune system, wakes up circulation and makes your skin soft, glowing and velvety !
Some folks use a natural bristle brush but I personally like the loofah gloves as I can use both hands and just go for it. If your not digging body brushing you’ll get the same results from a body scrub. So make sure you check out my blog on this here.
The best time to dry brush is before a bath or shower. Technically, they say that it’s best to start with your feet and work your way up your body using both circular and long strokes moving towards your heart avoiding your face and private parts of course. Although, I have to say I just work my magic and go with the flow and it seems to work just fine. It’s not exactly rocket science. Just do your own shazzizle. Make sure you pay special attention to any stubborn areas of cellulite like on the thighs. Circular motions on your tummy will also help reduce the dreaded bloat.
When I dry brush I definitely see a big difference in my skin. I look less like a reptile as it takes away that awful scaliness. Not a cool look ! Once I’m brushed and showered I slap on the good old coconut oil and I’m one fine glowing silky minx.
So have fun stroking yourself. Body brushing that is, not the other ! Future blog post me thinks LOL
